To all backpackers and wanderlusts out there, I’m sure you didn’t miss the recently held World Travel Expo (WTE) 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, right?
With at least 120 participating booths, it was an overwhelming event of discounted tours, affordable travel packages and exciting freebies, which were all up for grab during the three-day event. World Travel Expo, with the theme “Ride to the Dawn of Travel Revolution”, gathered trade buyers, potential clients, entrepreneurs, media, and of course, travelers who took advantage of the travel and tourism related conferences, workshops, and interaction within the location. Even so, free travel tours (To Hong Kong and Batanes) were given away to the visitors of the event, care of Feta Travel Depot and Batanes Wakay Tours.
Among the participating booths were airlines (Air Asia, Cebu Pacific Air), accommodations (Azalea Hotel & Residences, Luks Lofts Hotel & Residences (who won the Best Booth Design award), Hamilo Coast Philippines, Canyon Woods, Plumeria Hotels & Resorts, Eurotel), travel companies (Biyahe Ni Juan, Rakso Travel, JTB, Inflight Menu Travel & Tours, Traveloka, Redpopsicle Travel & Tours, Inc., Advil Travel & Tours, Lindela Travel & Tours) and related products and services (Rustan Marketing Corporation, Uniqlo).
The WTE 2016, supported by the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, aims to be a part of the list of international fairs related to travel and tours. The event did not only support the best local and international travel choices but has provided various picks of affordable deals for the interested travelers. And to some who couldn’t afford the prices yet, it’s pretty sure that they’ve had a good hoard of information added to their bucket list.
Aside from the booths, WTE started online contests on Facebook in relation to the event, including a travel photography competition and a video montage contest.
Below is the winning entry for the for the travel photography competition, which perfectly aimed at the contest’s goal: to feature the country’s most beautiful tourist spots in a unique shot: Loie Adrian Fernandez – “You can take a thousand photos yet you can never really capture the true beauty of El Nido, Palawan.”
The winners for the Best Local Travel Airline, Best Hotel Accommodation, Best Travel Retailer, Best Travel Destination, Best Resort Accommodation, Best Travel Agency are yet to be announced.
