Coffee has become a part of our daily routine. From waking up in the morning, or when it’s cold, or even when it’s hot, or we just feel like drinking it. If we choose to drink brewed coffee, this daily routine becomes a health routine.

Here are some healthy reasons for drinking brewed coffee:

IT BOOSTS OUR BRAIN FUNCTION

It’s good to have a cup of coffee to jump start our morning. We also drink coffee when we want to stay awake to finish a project or a task. Indeed, coffee is effective in keeping our brains awake. The caffeine in coffee blocks adenosine. This will trigger the release of norepinephrine and dopamine. This will stimulate the nerve cells and enables us to think faster and stay alerted when needed.

IT LIFTS UP OUR MOOD

There are times when you just feel that you’re not in the mood. It may be the weather, or the stress, or you just don’t feel fine. Try a sip of brewed coffee to set your mood. You’ll have the temporary lift that will help you make it through the day.

IT PROTECTS THE MAN’S SEXUAL VIGOR

As a man ages, they are at risk of experiencing erectile dysfunction. A 2015 study from The University of Texas Health Science Center shows that men who consume 85 to 170 mg. of caffeine a day (2-3 cups) have a lower risk of experiencing erectile dysfunction by 42% compared with non-coffee drinkers. Coffee relaxes blood vessels, including those on the penis. This results in increased blood flow and leading to a firm erection.

IT INCREASES ENDURANCE DURING A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Coffee causes the release of adrenalin into the blood stream. This will help in enhancing endurance during an exercise or any physical activity. One laboratory study involves trained athletes who can run to the point of exhaustion. The study shows that the effective dose is 3mg of caffeine per 2.2 pounds of body weight.

IT LOWER THE RISK FOR SOME DISEASES

In a 2013 study, the researchers compared the beverage habits of 80,000 men and women. It revealed that those who drink coffee at least one cup a day have a lower risk of developing stroke. This may be due to the caffeine’s’ vasodilating properties.

A 2014 study by the Nurses’ Health Study suggests that coffee drinkers have 20% lower risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.
There are also studies which show that coffee lowers the risk of developing certain kinds of cancer. Examples are cancer of the endometrium, colon, liver and melanoma.
