Summer has ended and rainy season is here. Downpours, cold and dark environment brings out a gloomy feeling. Some prefer to stay at the comfort of home. But for adventurers and thrill seekers, it doesn’t mean missing out all the fun that the rainy day has to offer. There are many places and many activities that can be also enjoyed (and sometimes best done) on the monsoon season. So aside from staycations, malling, and indoor activities, check out these cool destinations to visit during monsoons.

For Luzon Areas:

Laguna Province offers a lot of places to go including: Pansol Hot Spring to warm up your rainy days, Republic Wakepark in Nuvali Laguna where you can try wake boarding (a surface water sport which involves riding a wakeboard and the rider is towed behind a motorboat, which is more fun during rainy days) and also if you love to dare, try water tubing in Magdalena, Laguna.

Wakeboarding is also offered in Clark Wakeboard Park in Pampanga and Camsur Water Sports Complex in Camarines Sur.

Another water sports for the darers, water rafting (which is basically navigating a river while riding on an inflatable raft is best done during rainy days when the water on rivers are high and  the rapids are great) is offered in Chico River, Kalinga.

Other places with hot springs include Maniquit Hot Spring in Coron, Palawan and Toyozu Hot Spring Resort in Nabunturan.

For Visayas adventure:

Want to go far from Manila floods during rainy days? Try out these hot springs in Visayas area: Mainit Hot Spring in Biliran, Ardent Hot Spring in Camiguin, and Mambukal Hot Spring Resort in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

For Mindanao:

Davao City in Mindanao also offers water rafting at Davao City Wild Water Adventure and wakeboarding at Deca Wakeboard Park. White water rafting is also offered at Cagayan De Oro. You can also visit the hot spring found at Lake Agro Mountain Resort, North Cotabato.

For those who are skilled and trained adventurers, these should be fun. But for those beginners and first timers, safety should be taken into consideration. Water sports such as surfing and rafting should be done with a buddy or with a professional. For beginners in rafting the rapids in Davao suits you best. And for skilled rafters, Cagayan De Oro River has the best rapids for you. These, among other beautiful places in the Philippines are the best destinations to beat the gloomy feeling brought about by rainy season.
