One of the problems with people who always travel is gaining weight. They may overindulge with the delicious foods that the place has to offer.

They may be very busy with their business and workloads that they may be too tired to get some physical activity.

But guess what? You can still lose weight while travelling and here’s how:

Carry healthy snack such as fruits (apple, oranges, banana) that can be eaten along the way. This will help you to lose weight by curbing  your appetite and will help you feel full for a long period of time. Also, keep hydrated with fresh water and avoid soda and other glucose infused drinks.

This will prevent you from stopping by a fast food when you are travelling. (Note: when you are travelling through an airplane, you cannot bring fluids but carry your water bottle and fill it up when you’ve boarded the plane.

Another problem is that travellers don’t walk around that much. Lose weight by burning that excess calorie by walking around the place. Stop your car every several hours to walk around for 10-15 minutes to stretch your legs and keeps the blood flowing.

Also, try to walk as much as possible when you have arrived at your place of destination. This will help you enjoy and savor the scenery and take care of your weight.

While you are trying to enjoy every minute of your trip or maximizing your business travel time, give 15-30 minutes of your time to exercise. If the hotel has a gym, use it. If the travel is packaged with a fitness class or a physical activity, join in it.

Is it possible to lose weight while you’re hitting the sheets? Yes, giving your body the time to relax and unwind will definitely aid in losing weight. When you are under constant stress and you lack rest, the body will try to compensate fatigue by making you feel hungry and crave for high-sugar, salty or fatty foods.

Being well rested will help you clear your mind and control your hunger so that you will choose to eat healthily and not give in to your cravings.

Travelling for leisure or for work doesn’t mean we have to take our physical fitness for granted. You just need the right mindset and motivation to stay disciplined and make healthy conscious decisions even when you travel.
